@thediaryofdaze: i wrote this poem ‘Daisy Dreams of Love’ when i was going through the most intense limerent heartbreak of my entire life. limerence is the soul-dying yearning to have someone come back. limerence comes only after heartbreak. it is the obsession, the longing, the i-cannot-live-without-you mania. it’s the constant cycling through delusion, panic and heartache. i had experienced breakups before, but this particular one had so many open-ended questions left unanswered, so much imagined potential unmanifested. i lost myself in these cycles of aching & aching for someone who was half-heartedly loving me & barely present. leaving was one of the hardest things i ever had to do. i loved him deeply, soulfully, beyond reason. but i had to choose myself. i couldn’t continue knowing that this love would eat away at me, that i would fit myself into smaller & smaller boxes to stay ‘in love’. limerence is one of the hardest things to deal with. it really can feel like you’re going crazy. i hope that by sharing my experience, someone else can feel a little more seen, and know that the journey is long, but healing is happening. surely. it may not feel like it at all, but surely. slowly but surely. thank you for reading my preamble & i sincerely hope you enjoyed my poem. it means the world to me 💖💐 thank you as always to @SpitNights for creating spaces where poetry is shared & creating communities where we uphold one another 💖 a big thank you to Tyrone Lewis for being a wizard behind the camera 📷✨ #poetry #spokenword #limerence #heartbreak #rebirth
