I wonder how many of these are also secondary conditions are recorded. Also maybe invest in better support for conditions 🤔 NHS told me i was "too complex to treat", and if i hadnt had the means to go private for therapy i wouldn't be typing this right now.

I’m AuDHD, I’ve applied for pip got denied, did the MRN, got denied again, now having to go down the tribunal route, it doesn’t seem to matter how much you struggle

I was due a review in October just got a letter saying extended to august 2028 so that's the anxiety of this horrible system pushed back another year atleast, it just gets worse though and they'll inevitably come for all of us in one way or another

I got diagnosed... So now I know I'm broken and there is 0 help. They even said I can't get medication because they're putting it on pause for anyone diagnosed throught the right to choose.

pip isn't given on the condition you have, but how they affect you. there's around 8 people getting pip for acne.

PIP is not an out of work benefits first and foremost. And secondly it's not about a diagnosis but about how it affects someone's life. Many people have multiple things that go alongside other conditions. Some people with ADHD or anxiety may need things to help them get a job or stay in work, and PIP would be used to pay for those things. If they can't access the things they need they're either less likely to get the job in the first place or find it very hard to stay in work. People with other disabilities or medical conditions may need specialist equipment at work. If the government are saying they want to take away PIP and other disability benefits then they'd better figure out how to keep people in work who need the help (including PIP) to do so!

Absolutely should be, if the symptoms of ADHD are that bad, they are a danger on the road because of the zone outs and are not able to concentrate and if the are on med, that will help with the symptoms, so they can work

Well if adhd and anxiety are classed as disability’s which are protected under the equality act and pip is a disability benefit based on how a disability effects you and not the condition itself then I don’t see how they could do that surely? Is that not discrimination?

Overdiagnosed or not, there are still people who are debilitated with it. Overdiagnosis does not change the fact that some people really really suffer with it

Nobody gets PIP for ADHD, anxiety or any other condition, people get PIP for how their condition affects their daily living.

PIP isn't supposed to be based on diagnosis, but on how you are impacted. How on earth do they expect to be able to write off some diagnoses when the people still meet the descriptors 🙃

Rhetoric aside about ‘cutting costs’ like simple question that’s never asked or answered. What am I supposed to do? I can’t get gainful employment, no where is willing to hire me never have been. I need income and sorry but do they think that cutting money off me will magically make me employable and not autistic? Is it going to make employers hire me? No. Will it do anything other than simply save a tiny bit of cash? No. I hate it. They always say it’ll be protected for those who need it, I NEED IT. JUST changing the rules around what or who can get it is just disgusting. Oh you may be disabled now but at the swipe of Pat Mcfaddens pen I’m no longer able to get help? It’s not a life of luxury even when someone gets full pip and uc. It’s like we aren’t even human and don’t deserve any kind of ‘normal life’ it’s not my fault the elite and rich conspire to keep the poor as poor as possible and keep everyone fighting amongst themselves rather than looking up. It’s not my fault minimum wage isn’t enough to live on. It’s honestly like they would and I do believe this rather me not be here.
