Osmanlı'nın son dönemini, Çarlık Rusyası yıllarını ve Cumhuriyet'in ilk dönemlerini yaşayan İbrahim Efendinin ilim yolculuğu Düğür'de başlayıp Ahıska ve İstanbul medreselerinde aldığı uzun yıllara yayılan tahsille şekillendi. Yaklaşık 25 yıllık ilim hayatının ardından Posof'a dönerek medreselerde müderrislik yaptı, yüzlerce talebe yetiştirdi. Cumhuriyet döneminde Posof vaizliği görevini üstlendi, ardından Posof müftüsü olarak ömrünün sonuna kadar halkına hizmet etti. 84 yıllık ömrünü ilme, dine ve insanlara hizmete adayan Müderris İbrahim Efendi, 17 Nisan 1953 tarihinde Hakk’ın rahmetine kavuşmuştur.
