I’m not so sure about not being able to see for cannulas. Yes, it’s about the feel for the vein, but you’d need to see the flash back, so you can insert the plastic component of the cannula….

As a nurse I wasn’t allowed by occupational health to work in clinical areas with a feeding tube and I then had a central line as it came with too many risks so along with my conditions, I had to give up my career. Hope there is more support now as the NHS wasn’t supportive at all 10 years ago when I tried to save my career and they caused me nothing but stress.
