@teresondupuy: When an empath leaves an avoidant person’s life, they take real magic with them. Not because the avoidant didn’t feel it. Because they could not let their armor down enough to receive it. They did not want to be seen that deeply. They did not want to be known that honestly. They did not want to be met in the places they were still hiding from themselves. So when they shut down, pull away, or move on, understand this clearly: the next person is not getting a healed version of them. If they have not done the work, they are bringing the same wounds, the same defenses, the same emotional unavailability, and the same patterns into the next connection. Sometimes they choose someone who mirrors their armor. Someone equally shut down. Someone who will not ask too much of them. And sometimes they choose someone who feels familiar enough to you, but is more vulnerable, more available, or easier to control. Either way, the pattern does not disappear just because you are no longer in the room. Unhealed avoidance does not become secure love overnight. And there are consequences for continuing to hurt good people instead of facing yourself. So no, the next person is not getting something better than you got. They are meeting the same wall. And eventually, that wall becomes its own karma.
