I got married at 20 because I love my husband and I don’t want to spend my life with any other person 🤷♀️neither of us are christian and we started dating at 15 and 16.

I married my husband at 23. We are both Christian. But we made it 3.5 yrs between starting dating and married. It’s been 7 years and he’s still the best. But I’ve hit the jackpot. We also have both worked the whole time (he actually stayed home with our eldest for a year while being a pastor).

my bf and I have been together for 3 years next month, we are waiting until marriage but no one really believes we'll wait that long. we are both Christians and hold the value that waiting until marriage is what you're supposed to do, and we plan to get married the summer after i graduate college which will be in 2029

In general it’s very religious communities, Christian or otherwise. It’s interesting though, because I am very religious, but am within the Episcopal Church, and so we have a lot more young people who are together and not married. It’s hard to strike the balance between values and not wanting to enforce purity culture. It’s doable, but challenging. I’m a theologian and this is one of my primary areas of interest and study. Thanks for sharing your story and perspective :)

My husband and I have been together since high school (17 years together, 4 of those years married). Our education and our career paths were important to us and we knew we didn’t want to get married early. We both went to undergrad, I went to grad school, he went to med school, and we focused on our education and careers in our twenties. We got married when I was 30 and he was 28.

Yeah, almost twenty here, I’m definitely marrying my boyfriend. However, despite knowing, we’re definitely not getting married till I get out of college at the earliest, if a little after. I would much rather live without giving into my physical desires than jump into a marriage before we are mature enough to start a life together.

I got married at 19 (30 now) and thankfully it worked out but it was HARD and I’d literally never recommend doing it. So extremely grateful my husband and I were able to grow together not apart and we’re happier now than ever
