As a heterosexual person, I choose to use the term "partner." I believe this word carries a much deeper meaning than many people realize—to me, it feels even more profound than "fiancée" or "wife." A partner is someone I am with, someone I intentionally live and build a life with. I actively chose them, and the term defines the true seriousness of the relationship far better. But that is just my opinion.
