I don’t think my husband and I would have been good spouses to eachother back when we were 18/19. We’re 24 now and have grown together and individually so much to the point where we could be good spouses to eachother. But our situation is wholly unique and people our age shouldn’t base their relationship on our timeline.

I think people fail to realize they can enjoy a lot of the freedom of youth while just staying in a monogamous relationship. there's a lot of pressure to marry but if you're both happy having individual lives for a while, there's no shame in that.

I got married at 21 and we had been together for 5 years already. the thing was for me that I was told to have kids young for medical reasons if I wanted them and I don't think getting married is less of a commitment then having a child and for tax reasons it's actually easier for us to be married. the other thing was that I had been moved out and financially independent for 3 years and we had lived together for a year. I'm not religious but I did care about my mum being at my wedding and the only way for that to happen was me getting married when I did. my story feels so niche that I don't feel like I'm the target of these videos 😂

I think it 1000% depends on the situation that your relationship has been in. I got married at 21 (my husband had just turned 24) and while we were young, we had been together for 5 years and experienced life separately. We went to colleges in different states so 3 years of long distance, we both lived on our own during our college years and that made our relationship stronger than ever. We had to prioritize our relationship at times and continue to choose each other. We also had to have the hard convos/disagreements as adults. I don’t think anyone should be marrying their high school boyfriend if they have never been apart and experienced life nor should you marry someone you just met at any age. People need to think thing through more imo.

i tell people to not use me as an example. i just turned 22 when i got married, after only 7 months together! i have been married 16 years, and we work great together, love each other, and been doing well. this is the exception, not the norm!!

my mom got married at 22 (not due to religious reasons, more due to culture). she got very lucky with my dad (still going strong 30+ years later) and even she told me to wait until at leeeaaast 25 😂
