What A Mistake That Was :
God who would watch this tripe? My 10 year old son saw a trailer for this and being a huge history buff I thought he’d want to see it, but he said he thought it looked inaccurate (for some reason) and he’s got the greatest eye for AI slop I’ve ever seen even though he’s only 10 hahaha.

They made this and put it out when they did because without George Washington, who knows what would have happened to America. A very small percentage of Americans know anything about him outside of the revolutionary war. I’d bet that 94% of the American population didn’t even know he fought in the French and Indian war. It shows how he became who he was. Eventually leading to a 250th anniversary for the country

Personally, I don’t think it’s possible to depict chattel slavery in film without it becoming trauma porn for white audiences & promoting some version of white saviorism. I wouldn’t want a film about the US war of independence coming out of Hollywood anymore than I’d want a film about the Haitian Revolution.

So, what? This is how war functions it is the continuation of politics. Alliances shift constantly throughout an overwhelming majority of military history. Hannibal couldn't defend his supposed allies in Southern Italy, then they were defeated in detail. Russia switched sides during the Sevens Years War to save Prussia from annihilation. The Soviets provided substantial material aid to the Germans while both invaded Poland. The United States supported the Kurds in Syria while Turkey supported radical Islamists that are now in power. Politics isn't about who is right but who commands what, who distributes status, resources and legitimacy and why the losers must accept the newly established status quo. Alliances are instrumental NOT moral.
