We went to McDonald’s MAYBE twice a month as a kid. No Uber Eats. Walked everywhere or took the bus. lived with 4 roommates to pay off my student loans in my early 20s. I’m so glad we didn’t grow up with social media

Tell them again!!! My first job was a cashier at a dry cleaning company. Minimum wage in GA at that time was still $4.25 per hour. I was 14, working part time and was still expected to bring home good grades in high school!

I was on Virgin Mobil phone plan at 17 and had to get top up cards, $20 a piece. Each text was .05 cents each way and mins were .10 cent a min until 9PM

That’s what they are missing. Most of my Patna’s at the time had a regular job to pay for their $600 apartment then a second (factor job) to ball out and have extra money.

5.25 an hour for my first job in 1997. No one could afford an apartment on their own. We all had roommates so we could afford to survive. No cell phones, no internet, maybe 2 of the 4 us had a rickety car that always had problems.
