With my eyeballs, sadly I’ve done this shit too long to not be able to tell a bolt size and thread pitch by just looking at it.

They literally make these in a tiny jack knife style that are far easier to use and take up 99% less space

it works great if you never leave your shop. put it in a service truck and in 6 months the sizes vibrate off. i wish they'd stamp the size on tool
