Democratic socialism is not the same as socialism. We have social system already in this country. Honestly if we kept with the social systems and the funding that FDR put in place we would be in such a better place. The best we can hope for is a system like Canada or Japan which would taken decades to overhaul our current system.

She doesn't understand there is more than one type of soocialism because ignorance. There are dozens of variations of socialism, but they generally fall into two main families: evolutionary/reformist (achieved gradually through democratic systems) and revolutionary (achieved by overthrowing capitalism). Because interpretations and historical implementations differ, historians and political scientists group them into a few key traditions.

Thank you Stella. I do wish that people would understand the difference. Canada is a Social Democracy. LOL! As a Canadian I had no idea that Cuba has the same kind of Government as Canada and Sweden. I am starting to get the impression that maybe people are confused about their definitions. Communism and a Socialist Democracy are VERY different.
