7000 is the best for the time it came out. 9000 isn't better in any way.

I started with an AMD CPU and it was already crap by the time I got it in 2015, switched to Intel in 2021 with an i5-11400F, upgraded to an i9-11900F in 2024, they were decent but my system just wasn’t performing to my needs. With Intel’s instability issues on the 13th and 14th generations, I didn’t feel like sticking with them, I know you can fix it by making sure your BIOS is up to date, but such a flaw should have never been released for sale. I started researching parts and decided to go for the 7800X3D, I managed to get some DDR5 just as prices started to rise and the next day, the same memory was twice the price I paid and out of stock. I built that PC almost 8 months ago now and I’m still in love. That 3D V-cache is a huge benefit to gaming performance, I can play any game maxed out as long as it’s not an unoptimised mess like the Oblivion Remaster or older games with shoddy PC ports like GTA IV and Far Cry 3. I can play Cyberpunk with pathtracing enabled and still get over 100fps. I’m still paying some of it off but it’s worth every penny.

5800x It's still in my PC and I see no reason to change it; it continues to perform brilliantly, even with my 5080.
