A “violent bully who used fear, violence and intimidation to control almost every aspect” of his victim’s life tried to avoid arrest by hiding in a fridge. On Wednesday, Kent Police released footage of Dean Foord hiding in the appliance as officers searched his house. Bodycam footage shows officers opening cupboards, then pulling open the fridge where the 33-year-old is seen sitting down, smirking. One officer is heard saying, “hey, hello mate”, and asking Foord to get out of the fridge, before the criminal pleads for the officer to “be nice”, explaining that his foot is broken. Foord was arrested in Rochester in December 2025 and during a search police found cocaine. He was also later charged and convicted of actual bodily harm, criminal damage, threats to kill, common assault, controlling and coercive behaviour, and possession of a Class A drug. On 30 June he was jailed for three years. Kent Police arrested Foord after his victim said she had endured six months of mental and physical abuse. Foord controlled her social media accounts, made her cut ties with friends, and controlled when she was permitted to leave the house. On one occasion, the force said, Foord locked her in a room and would only let her out after she “barked like a dog”.
