A handball in this case can ONLY be a yellow if the Netherlands were making a promising attack. In this video you can CLEARLY see that the Netherlands were midfield and dropping back to their own half when Messi handled the ball. Because the Netherlands didnt start an attack, the handball was only enough for a FREEKICK, not a punishable YELLOW. Was it a disrespectful move by Messi? YES. Was it enough for a yellow? NO.
