Wasn’t there also a reduction in dementia in pts who got a shingles vaccine? It’s almost like…vaccines are good for more than 1 outcome & prevention is the point?!

So is there any negative effects if one were to take the BCG after turning 50 let's say? By which question i mean to ask whether taking the vaccine as a preventive measure would outlay the possible negative effects for those higher in likelihood to suffer from Alzheimer's and similar diseases?

double excited bc prior bladder-cancer studies found lower dementia rates among people treated with BCG. A 2023 JAMA Network Open cohort found BCG treatment in non–muscle-invasive bladder cancer was associated with lower Alzheimer’s/dementia risk, around a 20% lower risk signal. 😳👍

I had the BCG in UK at school c1978, will that be likely to impact my Alzheimer's risk? My mum aged 83 has Alzheimer's & I dont think the BCG was available in her age group?
