as a single dad who has his 3 kids...it's crazy to hear how many times people say "oh it's your weekend?" or "oh it's so nice you're letting your wife take a day off" and more and I'm like "...sure" I just go with it now. it's not worth the energy

The looks I get when I say dad takes care of our little so I can work and we don’t have to have daycare is astounding. Then when they find out I earn him and that’s the goal 😂

Good thing I'm not a parent. People would hate me for the replies I'd give them. My goal would be for them to apologize and question their beliefs or to cry. Either is fine.

I'm a dad, and I've been the stay-at-home parent for over half my kid's life now. It's always weird when I take them out and someone's like "wow, just you and the kid today hey? How brave of you!" (that particular comment was 3 days ago 😂). Like, what? Uhhhh no, I am in fact a responsible adult who happens to be very comfortable and accustomed to keeping my offspring alive and happy in public places... but thanks I guess?

My mom doesn’t speak English so my dad did all the parent teacher stuff, doctors appointments, cheer and dance lessons. And on more than one occasion people assumed my dad was a single dad and my mom was gone gone. And people praised him for going “above and beyond”. It wasn’t until recently in my 20s that I realized oh dads arent expected to do any of that stuff so when one does they’re seen as extraordinary. My dad was extraordinary but not because of any of that stuff he’s just a good human
