Dolly was so proud of Whitney for “I will always love you”. Everyone LOVED to ask Dolly if she was ever upset with the fact that Whitney often gets the credit for writing the song. Dolly always had the funniest responses. Adding to your point, Whitney’s superstardom coincided with Bobby’s decline in popularity. His next album after Don’t Be Cruel released the same year Whitney did The Bodyguard, and while it performed well it didn’t achieve the same success and would signal that shift. Meanwhile, Whitney shattered records and took over the world, something Bobby couldn’t deal with I guess.

I wish when people do story on Whitney would get the story right her brother introduced her to drugs not Bobby he was a drinker before he met her then after they got married he started doing drugs. Bobby was an alcoholic when started out Whitney already had a problem before they met.

It appears that Aunt Bee had the most credibility and humanity. They couldn’t fire her. She had wisdom and observed that the family was on the wrong track. It is ironic that in 1993, when Whitney Houston was on top of the world with the Bodyguard movie, her personal life was evaporating.
