Adding to your point, Whitney’s superstardom coincided with Bobby’s decline in popularity. His next album after Don’t Be Cruel released the same year Whitney did The Bodyguard, and while it performed well it didn’t achieve the same success and would signal that shift. Meanwhile, Whitney shattered records and took over the world, something Bobby couldn’t deal with I guess.

It appears that Aunt Bee had the most credibility and humanity. They couldn’t fire her. She had wisdom and observed that the family was on the wrong track. It is ironic that in 1993, when Whitney Houston was on top of the world with the Bodyguard movie, her personal life was evaporating.

🎵Run to you🎵 is one of my absolute favorites. Man, I loved her. 🥺 I never could stand Bobby, I did blame him, but also disliked him from NE and he was always doing something. They say our first love is someone like our dad. That's unfortunate. I wish she could be with Robin too, I had no idea about Robin until way after her death, and Bobbi Kristina, that poor baby. I don't think she had much of a chance.
