I'm all for protecting kids, but trying to put that responsibility on the goverment so that they can twist it into mass surveillance is NOT the solution. When I grew up, I had parental controls on my PC. Only two hours per day allowed, and most of that went to homework. Only if I hadn't been able to finish my homework, my parents would extend the time. So instead of giving 3 year olds tablets, let's start with a phone that can only text and call, then later upgrade it to one with internet connection but with parental controls and when they're old enough AND informed of the dangerous of the Internet you ease those restrictions. BECAUSE THAT'S LITERALLY WHAT MY PARENTS DID. I didn't have social media TILL I WAS 17!
