So I went to Lido in Richmond today. They’re located across the street from Aberdeen Center on Hazelbridge. There are some mixed reviews on this place, particularly regarding service but if you can get past that, the food here is consistent and tastes great. I’m a big fan of their satay beef soup and often get it with the thin egg noodles. There’s a breakfast set there that will include a bun or toast, eggs and a few different selections of protein. You can add extra to change the bun to a pineapple bun, which I did. Lido is famously known for their pineapple bun. It’s served fresh as people get it frequently and these are baked consistently through the day. You can opt to get a slab of butter in it if you want the true Hong Kong experience but really depends on how rich you want it to be. Personally, I like the pineapple bun. The crust is sweet and crumbly, the bun itself is soft and warm, and honestly it’s just comforting. Pro tip: ask for an English menu as soon as you get seated if you need one as they don’t default the tables with them. Overall, I really enjoyed Lido and will certainly be back! Try it out and let me know what you think.
