His character is so realistic. The pressure, the desire, the hardwork.

Kagayama got accepted and validated , while Oikawa STILL gets invalidated by pretty much everyone no matter how hard he works , like all that pressure on him and nobody sees it and how hard he’s working and it makes me cry I love Oikawa 😭

Said it himself he doesn’t have talent but he’s worked his ASS off to be where he’s at rn in the game. I love that ethic.

Guys what are you on about this being the total opposite 🫩💔 it’s my opinion, though both are misunderstood in different ways. I just picked Oikawa because for me Kageyama found people who understood him, Oikawa rarely did. Anyways we have our own opinions here so it’s alright

Not true at all?? A LOT of people misunderstand Kageyama, more than they misunderstand Oikawa. This is biased asf

Ppl saying kageyama is the fantasy and oikawa is the reality in a sense r correct but that’s downplaying kageyama and not rlly understanding his character.. sure kageyama has always been extremely talented but he puts in they work by himself since birth. Kageyama is where he is bc of discipline. Kageyama never focused on working as a team but that’s not true for Oikawa. Where Oikawa lacks is where Kageyama makes up and what Kageyama lacks is what Oikawa makes up. Kageyama’s struggle comes from not being able to connect with people and Oikawa lacks the healthy notice I say healthy discipline Kageyama has. That’s just the nature of their characters everyone has strengths and weaknesses.

I get oikawa’s side. He was under immense pressure, hitting a wall with ushijima while a prodigy like kageyama was chasing him down. His breakdown was a realistic, desperate response to feeling inadequate despite his hard work. But understanding oikawa doesn’t mean we ignore that kageyama was an innocent kid who did nothing wrong. He just wanted to learn from his senior and ended up as collateral damage for oikawa's insecurities. That nearly punched moment and later abandonment are exactly why Kageyama developed his communication issues and 'King' persona. Saying kageyama is 'easy to understand' while oikawa is 'deep' is just biased

Personally i think it takes a soul to understand both of them, yes one may have found his home faster than another but in the endgame oikawa found his as well and even if it took longer his path was right for him

Hot take, ppl more commonly don’t fully understand kageyama and therefore see more depth in Oikawa’s character and then think that it’s hard to understand Oikawa’s character when actually everyone in the fandom understands it bc that’s all anyone talks abt and not a lot of ppl actually talk about kageyamas character aside for the basic stuff we see

Since Oikawa is not lucky to be as talented as everyone, it is kind of frustrating to worked hard twice as much to surpass those who were gifted. So it’s given to his situation to be a little bitter.

When you work harder than other people to reach your goal, but then someone comes in and takes it away without working hard for it. I feels like Oikawa because, after working hard and becoming good at something, someone else ends up being better than you no matter how hard you try or how much you work for it.
