Parents LOVED me in high school because whenever I’d go to a friends house I’d go to their mom and dad and say thanks for having us and compliment their house and I’d always help clean up. It’s really not that hard

I called a business to ask what there hours were… person on the line goes “hello?” I say “is this *business name*?” They go “uh yeah?” Like what happened to phone etiquette “hello thank you for calling *business name*” or something 😭

when my college friend invited me to stay over, I told her mom that they had a lovely home and sent a thank you note after. 10 years later and I'm still hearing about it from her family members because they couldn't get over how polite it was. but I was raised to do that!

Landlines are such a loss because I learned how to socialize and charm the shit out of my friends parents while waiting on my friends to come to the phone. Truly shaped the way I talk to people today

My family ran a STRICT program, basically raised the exact same way. We weren't allowed to eat the last piece of a shared item. It's supposed to be left for the guests at the table.

It’s actually gotten out of control. Today at work someone asked if instead of speaking in meetings, the option to fill out a Google form with answers to icebreaker questions should be available so the introverts can feel heard without triggering their anxiety. We work remotely 😅
