coning from a a server, she called it out and neither of you said that's mine and you said wow that was fast so she probably just assumed it was yours since your responded. but also seems like she just kinda set it in the middle because there was no definet claim of the dish from either of you.

Actually she said “French toast” and then went to put it in front of Sam… then YOU SPOKE “wow that was fast” and at the exact moment your mouth opened her wrist moved towards you. This could have been easily avoided if just one of you had acknowledged it being your meal. I get it’s a ‘funny video’ but I don’t think you’re realising you’re the cause of it.

so as a server myself, based on the caption and the way your partner said he hates when they always do that, it is a pretty good assumption that neither of you usually respond whenever the food comes to the table. as the lady clearly called out the dish name and you only said "wow that was fast" thus she put the food in the middle between you guys, so to avoid this maybe speak up a little faster? 😁 cause believe me we do "hate" it as well when customers are not reacting when we say the dish name. no shade just a friendly advice how to best avoid situations like this repeatedly in restaurants/bars/cafes etc
