for me it's media. Two shows in particular..Bojack Horseman, especially'the view from halfway down' episode scared me straight. and Fruits basket. but the tow shows together are like legit therapy. Bojack makes you look at where you went wrong. Fruits basket helps you learn how to start again. It really helped me. Honestly I think I just felt understood..also, just picking a really long show and telling yourself you won't make any decisions until you finish it. if you finish it you can have a talk with yourself. between starting orange is the new black and finishing it my life has changed so much

Some random woman on a game called Guild Wars approached me and said “you seem lonely and like you need a friend” this game is an mmo with no voice chat I was just kinda chilling in town during the Christmas event but I wasn’t planning on waking up the next day that was good to be the last thing I did. I ended up staying up till 3am with her and we just played the game together that night and for years after

For me, I could end it all whenever I wanted but once I commited there was no turning back and maybe I'd regret it. I also started to actually try making friends and doing new stuff not to get better but maybe just maybe it would make me happy even for a short while snd It's when it started to get better imo.
