the one benefit to game keycards over straight up digital games is you can buy keycards second hand. I bought one second hand on accident. It works fine.

The issue is that once the servers are down, that keycard can’t be used unless it was already downloaded to the system. Whereas I can order a DS or Gameboy game from ebay or find one at the thrift and still play it to this day.

It literally doesn’t matter how much proof you show people. I’ve done this for other games. Even showed how game key cards still existed on the original switch, they just didn’t have the name yet. But the amount of cards that actually have the game on the card is far more prevalent than game key cards or key on a disc games.

So this means once you have the game downloaded the game key card is no different than a normal game cartridge or disc. Most if not all games on disc nowadays already require an install. The difference here is the install is downloaded rather than loaded from the physical media, but after it's installed the result is the same.

When I was a kid in the 90's I had a nightmare once that I got the new game boy and the games were so tiny, about the size of a postage stamp. I lost all of my games in the car somewhere because they were so small and I cried and cried. Weird that it was kind of prophetic. I haven't lost all my games in the car and cried about it yet but it's not off the table.

I play with the switch mostly on handheld and with the wifi turned off. Only time I turn on the wifi is to check the nintendo shop. I don’t get how people think you need internet to play all the time on the switch 2

I made like this for donkey Kong bananza. At the end of the day it doesn’t matter if they don’t believe us. The proof is in the pudding and if it’s pudding then you can’t tell me it’s yogurt. Some of these games are actually on the card.

Anyone complaining about “when the servers go down”…. Back up your games. Put the memory card into a computer. Copy the Nintendo folder to a hard drive. Boom you no longer need a server. Take some initiative and responsibility over your data.
