This is incorrect. The ABA has said the terms are functionally equivalent, and therefore someone who has graduated law school but is not licensed should not refer to themselves as a lawyer.

This is actually a common misconception. Lawyer and attorney are synonymous and you will get in trouble (at least in the us) if you call yourself a lawyer if you don't have a license to practice

Obviously this is rage bait, because this is 100% inaccurate. You cannot call yourself a lawyer unless you have passed the bar exam and calling yourself a lawyer without passing the bar and giving legal advice is the unauthorized practice of law and is illegal!
