@mrstiffanylessons: walking across the wooden auditorium stage in these heels is an extreme sport i didn't train for. they told me i had to present the middle school fitness awards at the friday assembly, so i swapped my usual workout clothes for a blue button-down and a pencil skirt. standing up here by the american flag and those heavy red curtains, holding this black mic, my hands are totally shaking. a few of my 8th graders in the front row are whispering about the red soles on my shoes like they've never seen a heel in the building before. i just want to read off these names and get back to my desk to finish grading quizzes before 4th period...
