@calmmoneycoach: A Canadian couple's retirement plan, on one page Meet Dave and Sue. Both 55, both just retired, right here in Canada. Two pensions, two RRSPs, two kids. The biggest fear in retirement is not taxes. It is running out. So we start there. Add up the income you cannot outlive, pension, CPP and OAS, then compare it to what you actually spend. Theirs covers the bills 1.6 times over, after tax, before touching a single investment. Once the floor is solid, everything downstream gets easier. The portfolio can hold all equity, because the pension is the bond underneath it. The drawdown stays gentle, because nothing is forcing it. And the estate takes care of itself, because the drawdown already built it. The hard part is the one no spreadsheet can do. Giving yourself permission to spend it, and to give some of it away while you are still here to watch it land. The job was never to avoid running out. It is to not reach the end with a full account and an empty list of the things you meant to do. Four steps. The floor, the portfolio, the drawdown, the estate. The full worked example, spreadsheet and all, is in the community. Join at calmmoneycoach.ca.

Teresa in Canada 🇨🇦 🍁 :
I'm 63, single, never married, no kids and retiring in a few weeks. I have my insecurities about this decision, mostly financial. I have a DB pension that will pay me $56k. I have $200k in RSPS plus $360k cash savings, with no debt but I don't own a home. I am wondering if I should take my CPP now. it's only $1250 per month because I'm 63. Thoughts?

Pensions are not a reality for a lot of us. So a realistic video for those of us that have RRSPs and TFSAs.

If you have 2 strong pensions, couple in their late 20s, should we almost ignore our rrsp until we max out our tfsa ?

What’s your take on taking the commuted value of the pension, placing it in a RRIF and investing it as opposed to taking the lifetime payout from the DB pension. The idea in my case would be to grow the CV while only using the dividends to spend and eventually passing the total value of the accounts to my children

Wouldn't they want to melt down the rsp 55-65 and defer their defined pensions to 65 to collect a higher payment?

as a couple that retired in their '50s being blue collar workers, the biggest mistake we bit made was putting too much money in rsps and that I mean it keeps you going as your as you're retired. but if you want to take it out it's taxed heavily. we knew that so it's our fault but you got to retire early

awesome video, very comprehensive. if you have a db pension is it better to avoid rrsp and just stick with tfsa/unregistered?

If you're reading this, is I'm rooting for you, you can do this too. Real wealth can be built quietly with consistency and the right strategy. I'm 65, a family attorney, with 2 paid off homes and my daughter's med school fully covered. Once I stopped following trends and focused on what actually works, everything changed financially for me when I met Katina Now I earn very well from the opportunities I choose and the strategies I've stayed consistent with @Katina Trades
