Scammers are everywhere 👹 How to spot a scammers page? From my experience, usually they look like this... • corny bio • recently created profile • all posts made on the same date, around when the profile was created • no shop info or location • no tagged posts • no healed tattoo photos Social media is an awesome tool when it comes to finding a tattoo artist. However, we need to be careful! Especially when sending money to people we don't know. Your artist should... • have a shop location tagged in their bio or somewhere on their page • give you the option to come to the shop for an in person consultation where you can put your deposit down in cash if that makes you more comfortable • have photos of tattoos posted, but also show healed work • the shops page should correlate, also saying that artist works at their location You'd think it's common sense but unfortunately there have now been multiple people scammed out of hundreds of dollars in fake deposit money sent to Kathie Creed, Karma Kayy Le'Shawn, Inked by Ray Anna, Blonde Ivy and more careful out there yall!!! I think the scariest part is out of all of the reports I've made, only one of these pages has been taken down. Typically, Facebook tells me the page is not going against any community guidelines. I just want to point out, a lot of these scammers are now including a shop/location to their page to look more legitimate. They either just use the shot of the person they're stealing it from, to look more legitimate or they include a random one from anywhere they can and claim to work there. Sadly, a lot of people do not look into the shop or verify the legitimacy of their employment. They simply take their word for it. We have started to see a lot of people either come in for their fake appointment or stop by to talk to them after leaving a deposit. They come in and say they were speaking to a random name and have an appointment with them and we have to break the news. So more often than not now they do actually have a location so it's really important to verify and call the shop or come by if you do not know this are an artist we were booking with or have suspicions. Just thought it was important to point out so people start verifying who they are giving deposits with and making appointment, before they lose their money. These scammers have gotten better at looking legitimate sadly.
