Nice work! This reminds me of when I worked at an old Bell Atlantic central office in DC, all the really old stuff had beautiful cable lacing.

That is similar to cable tying on military planes. The one I worked on had separate winds of waxed twine tying the bundle together every 12 inches or so and a label at either end. The tensioned lacing that you have here is interesting.

for '80s music I find that lacing the inside of a cable with a little bit of the white powder is necessary to get the true shoulder pad crunch and FM tone
