@odanis.salomon: Red flags pop into my head for a position like this but maybe I’m overthinking it. What do you think? #carbusiness #buyingcars #sellingcars #candlmotors
He wants to run a dealership with no overhead and no risk 😂

is it possible he wants the flexibility of multiple inventories, he knows what his clients want and the more places he can get under his belt the more options he has

If I had a dealership, I would have hundreds of independent sales professionals. You just want the control. As a professional business solutions leader, I support the commission only approach.

He can can run multiple dealerships that way. You may not have the car they want at the time, but another one may

As a former salesperson that sounds great, as a manager I don’t think it would work because there’s no oversight.

No red flags here. Just a good salesmen who wants to work on his time. This is how car sales should be.

He’s a bird dog and likely works with multiple dealerships at the same time. Giving him access to your internal platforms, ACVs, payouts, and other proprietary information creates a conflict of interest. He can easily compare your numbers with other stores, using your data to maximize his own profits rather than benefiting your dealership. It’s a double edged sword for the business owner.
If you decide to bring someone like this on, the best approach is to tie access and compensation to performance. Set clear expectations, such as a minimum of 20 vehicles per month, with bonus incentives beginning after the 25th vehicle. That way, his interests are aligned with the dealership’s success rather than simply leveraging your information for personal gain.

I see the problem. He’s pitching himself as an employee but the actual arrangement is a partnership. He’s not developing your business. He’s developing his business through your businesses infrastructure 👍🏽

Dude sounds like a genius. I know a dude that gets paid $179 from a client to find a car, inspect the car and negotiate the deal. Client just has to sign and go. And gets commission from the dealer. He averages about 40-50 cars a month. Works with about 10 large auto groups

I worked at a dealership where their best salesman only showed up 2-3 days out of the week and sold more cars than everybody else. They left him alone because he was the top guy.

this is how us Real Estate Agents work we are independent contractors who have to work under a Broker. I don't know why car sales hasn't adapted the same model. You would actually sell more cars
