I’m 41 and by all metrics, I should be happy. I’m married, I have a great family, and I have a job that pays me money that doesn’t go as far as it used to. I’ve never been more depressed in my life. I can no longer see a future. Everything is bad and it’s not my negative perception, it’s the reality we live in now. Nothing feels safe, nothing feels certain. I find myself up at night watching 90s tv shows of a time that doesn’t exist, when life didn’t seem so hopeless, colorless, unfriendly and dystopian. I hate all of this. It’s not normal.
