ICE MURDER VIDEO: Officials Release Moments Before And After Fatal Maine Shooting (USA Today) The fatal shooting by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer of a Colombian man in Maine was just the latest of incidents that have renewed calls for investigations and scrutiny on immigration operations around the country. The man, identified by lawmakers as 26-year-old Joan Sebastian Guerrero, was shot and killed Monday morning in Biddeford, a city about 15 miles south of Portland, Maine, according to the Department of Homeland Security. He was authorized to work in the United States and was the father of a 3-year-old daughter. DHS said the man tried to flee the scene during an attempted traffic stop and, "fearing for public safety, an officer discharged his weapon." It's an explanation similar to those given for other ICE shootings in the United States. The latest fatal shooting comes just days after 52-year-old Lorenzo Salgado Araujo was shot and killed in Houston while authorities said ICE was conducting another traffic stop. In that case, DHS said Salgado Araujo "weaponized" his vehicle and tried to run over an officer, but witnesses in the van he was driving disputed that account. After the two shootings in less than a week, ICE is suspending most vehicle stops, Reuters reported, citing two sources briefed on the matter. Maine Sen. Susan Collins, a Republican, said she urged the DHS secretary to cease non-urgent stops after the Maine shooting raised "critical questions." #ice #Trump #newstiktok
