✨LA’S HOTTEST NEW RESTAURANT: MIDDLE EASTERN FOOD FROM A TOP CHEF WINNER✨ Los Angeles’ newest Hollywood hotspot is here, and not only does it have immaculate vibes — the food is also REALLY good. Laya comes from Top Chef winner Charbel Hayek, who you might also know from his other LA restaurant Ladyhawk in WeHo. With Lebanese roots and produce sourced from the Hollywood Farmers Market next door, you can tell chef put a lot of care into each dish on the menu. Some of my personal favorites to start were the Cannellini Bean Hummus, the Fried Kibbeh, and their already iconic Octopus Skewers. I LOVE octopus and order it all the time, but this dish stood out from the pack because not only was it cooked to perfection, it was also served with a charred cucumber tzatziki which added more complexity without overpowering the fish. But my top two dishes of the night had to be the Braised Beef Cheek — which was served in a rich tamarind sauce and was so tender it was falling apart — and the Grilled Red Seabream in a delicious sweet and savory sauce. I thought the meal couldn’t get any better, and then they brought out dessert. The presentations were showstopping, but my favorite was definitely the off-menu Knafeh. If it’s available, order it! Tulum-inspired vibes like this call for some cocktails, and my favorites were the Ambrosia if you like sweet and the Laya Mist if you like refreshing. They also have a great wine list! Save this for your next night out, and send it to someone you wanna go with! 🤍🤎 @layarestaurant #food #foodtiktok #Foodie #fyp #losangeles #latiktok #lafoodie #thingstodoinla #RestaurantReview #foodreview #hollywood #middleeasternfood #lebanesefood #topchef #ambiance #tulumvibes
