Carbon monoxide sinks. Smoke rises. Combo detectors are not good. You should have carbon monoxide sectors low to the ground and smoke detectors high. If a carbon monoxide detector is high by the time it alerts the room is already full of it. If a smoke detector is low by the time it alerts the room is already full of it.
