Legend of Korra is for people who have had to let go of things very important to them without any choice and were forced to heal in the world without it - and to learn how to live and be happy without it. Korra is about cycles, life, imperfection. ATLA is nostalgic and warm and preferred by so many people because it’s safe. Korra is close to how real life is- disappointing, confusing, not at all what you thought it would be, but you still find happiness and joy in it

Btw the avatar cycle was destined to restart. In ATLA when Aang visits the air temple in season 1, in the room with the avatar statues there’s only two spots left for a statue. 1 for Aang, 1 for Korra. Korra is the new Wan. She was destined to restart the avatar cycle and fuse with Raava idk how you guys haven’t gathered this

I think the one thing about Korra ending the cycle is the idea that the other avatars now get to be with there love ones in the afterlife. I know it’s a theory but I think it’s beautiful.
