I have one question that I have never been able to answer. When a tragedy or accident happens right in front of people, why do so many choose to record it instead of helping the person in need? I understand that some situations are dangerous, and not everyone can safely step in. But if you have the ability to help without putting yourself at serious risk, why is taking out a phone the first instinct instead of offering a helping hand? A video may go viral for a few days, but your kindness could save someone’s life forever. Let’s not allow social media to replace our humanity. Before pressing the record button, ask yourself, “If this were my family or someone I love, would I want people to film them or help them?” Humanity will always matter more than views, likes, and shares.
