@pleasure_as_praxis: So far, no studies indicate that orgasm is necessary for childbirth as many become pregnant without it, unlike the male orgasm. My working doctoral thesis asks if perhaps it is ideal for undisturbed physiological childbirth- pain inhibition, uterine undulations that support expulsion, the list goes on. But the fields of study as they are set up that could look into this, are locked in an androcentric view of “the” body.
