@mad86806: A lot of people are outraged when they see a family on the euthanasia list, which I totally understand. It feels insane that as a society we are euthanizing families, but it’s the reality. Usually putting families on the list is the shelter’s last resort. It’s important to get these tiny puppies out of spaces where sickness is rampant, so the shelter will send out a plea to rescues that they have a family that needs out of the shelter as soon as possible, but oftentimes rescues and fosters are so full that they can’t find a way to pull them unless they’re in danger of being euthanized. Ave Maria A2083218 is a perfect example. She was on the euthanasia list with her remaining puppies last week. Unfortunately these immature immune systems just can’t survive the shelter environment, and Ave Maria is now all alone. She’s actually doing great all things considered and I think is enjoying her new adoptions kennel, but I think she enjoyed a little stuffy too ❤️ BARC Animal Shelter 3300 Carr St Please visit the links in my bio if you can adopt or foster!
