Everyone is loving the fact that this will create more opportunities, and I get that. But my concern is that AI data centres require huge amounts of water for their cooling systems. I just hope it doesn’t end up meaning higher utility bills, administrative fees, or other costs for us as taxpayers. 😭😭😭

im not a fan of the idea but we need to look at how its actually going to run . closed loop liquid cooling and dry cooling no pulling water from the NSR or Municipal supply for cooling . its in Heartland industrial on land that cant be residential its neighbors are a fertilizer plant , NWR and some pipeline facilities. and because of its proximity to those its going to have its own natural gas power plant . old potato road , hwy 28 A and 28 already cant handle the traffic for what's out there so the roads to north edmonton and Ft saskatchewan will be plugged with traffic and under construction for the next forever .
