@anthonysdreamhouse: I'm going to be posting more front formal garden updates in upcoming weeks. I wanted to once again let everyone know: 1. the railroad ties are more than 50 years old and have done the majority of their leeching. 2. We are lining the sides with 6 mil plastic to further prevent any leeching. 3. Even without plastic, the carcinogens can only leach a max 16 inches and normally this occurs straight down. 4. Obviously things grow beside them with no issue, the liner isnt even up yet and we have tons of unwanted vegetation living it's best life. 5. The beds are 20-30 feet across and 27 inches deep. Their sheer size renders the leeching pretty null and void. 6. The original asphalt medical center parking lot drains properly. Adding dirt and transforming it into amazing soil with proper care and maintenance will assist in drainage because healthy soil retains lots of water & carbon. The #permaculture we plant in the beds will also drink many many gallons every time we get rain. If you have any other non-judgemental questions I'll be happy to answer them.
