I’m a Peds ER nurse & I could never do adults. But everything u said is true hahah. Doing an iv on a toddler is like wrestling an alligator

vein finders are my best friend when starting ivs in the nicu and sometimes we gotta pull out the ulta sound and for most labs we draw using heel sticks! Not as hard as it may sound, but definitely not for everyone!

Not going to lie … I worked in adult ICU and critical care for over 12 years . I used to say the same thing I would never work in peds. After Covid I switched to PICU/ oncology mixed unit. It’s very rewarding, parents are amazing most of the time and so thankful. I’m glad I took this experience. I do miss adults but right now I’m enjoying peds.
