My computer screen randomly broke on my MacBook too after one year. I NEVER DROPPED IT OR ANYTHING. $1000 to fix. I now have a dell.

It was probably the silicone keyboard cover. There can’t be anything in between when you fold the computer. lots of laptops get broken that way.

When you connect a broken MacBook to an external monitor, it won’t display. Unless you close the MacBook lid. Try that and see if you can save an access for Files.

this happened to my month old 2014 macbook pro, i didnt get the apple care either so was screwed. then got apple care literally paid thousands into it never had to claim anything until i moved decided to cancel a.c. to save $ and BAM my macbook screen went half weird black lines for ZERO reason, it was just sitting on desk not bumped or dropped nothing, then within a week full on black lines total distortion couldnt see anything on it 🤦🏻♂️its almost as if somehow this bs is purposely being done to force us to buy $1,000 replacement screens 🤷🏻♂️

In 2012 I was doing my makeup while looking in Photo Booth. I got soooo much foundation or probably Clare’s eyeshadow under the space bar that it started sticking! I was also in middle school so this is even more pointless and stupid.
