I will never stop screaming praises for N.K Jemisin from the rooftops. I have yet to read a bad book by her. And her being the first Black author to win a Hugo award for The Fifth Season only for her to then become the first author of all time to ever win two consecutively for the second book is crazy. Then she did it a THIRD time with the third book.

Disclaimer for Rage of Dragons, the series is not finished, the author's father passed away a few years ago and has since sort of disappeared off the face of the earth. The first two books are out and are both fantastic, but for the most part I have given up on the series ever being finished
