I’ll defer to the creator. But I just simplified the right to 4, squared both sides, a/7=2, the multiplied both sides by 7 to isolate the a which gives me 14

LS denominator is 7² and RS = 4 = 2². So a² = 2²7² = 14², so |a| = 14, so a = +/- 14. Instead of tacking on the +/- sign at the very end, I think it's better to equate sqrt(a²) with |a| and take it from there. Tighter logic that way, less hocus pocus.

ok now change it to 47, 404 and 101 yhea if you set up the problem with numbers so you know the answers to the square roots it's easy if you don't it becomes impossible without a lot more work or some sort of tool like a slide rule or calculator
