I had the honor of being on several video conference calls with Dr. Abu Safeya (and Dr. Adnan Albursh, may God rest his soul) in 2022.
We were planning and coordinating an international surgical mission to Gaza.
There are no words that can describe those people!
Their amazing manners, humility, literal love for their patients.
They were some of the very few (less than two handfuls) of surgeons that were able to leave Gaza and study medicine in Europe.
Both had/have dual citizenships and could've left Gaza decades ago, lived anywhere they wanted in utmost luxury. But they chose not to.
They insisted to return to Gaza not only to help patients, but more importantly to teach all the other med students who can't leave.
Top tier American surgeons told me they learned so much from these doctors and their students.
At near 60 years old, I consider having had the opportunity to talk with them my biggest honor.
No words!

Today in the morning was overcast and then this afternoon the sun came out from behind the clouds and it was a beautiful warm day with breeze. It almost feels fall like even though it’s only July the light was soft. I went out to the garden and picked raspberries.❤️❤️❤️Hell on earth. Save him. ❤️❤️❤️
