Anime has all the potential to surpass the manga, animation, voice acting, music... In fact, if the author is involved, he can even change things that didn't work out well in the manga, such as giving secondary characters more depth or fixing the ending. Even so, there are hardly any anime that are better than their manga, and the vast majority of anime don't even come close to their manga.

Anime should literally always be better than the manga. If it's not then it's not a good anime. Take Aot for example. Anime is much better thanks to the music, animation, voice acting and just more emotion and immersion.

A proper adaptation will always be better than Manga Take AOT for example which was already a top tier manga but added with Great Animation, voice acting and soundtracks making it one of the Greatest Animanga OAT I know there are mangas that are difficult to animate but 9/10 times a good anime adaptation will always be better than its manga

It really is situational, there are anime which have a great adaptation and are considered better than the manga, jjk, demon slayer, aot, there are some great manga which don’t get adapted at all, punpun, vagabond, usogui, and some adaptations which aren’t faithful like Tokyo ghoul, berserk, pandora hearts, imo manga>anime when it comes to overall works but if there’s a faithful adaptation to a series then anime>manga
