Why don't you answer this question? In Surah Al-Baqarah, verse 144, God says that the direction of prayer (Qibla) was changed from Al-Aqsa Mosque to the Sacred Mosque (Masjid al-Haram). The question here is: where in the Quran did God command us to face Al-Aqsa? The answer, so you don't tire yourself out, is in the verse before it. Because Muhammad ordered that the direction of prayer be towards Al-Aqsa. (Thus We have made you a justly balanced community that you may be witnesses over mankind and the Messenger may be a witness over you.) "The Prophet (ﷺ) prayed facing Bait-ul-Maqdis (Jerusalem) for sixteen or seventeen months, but he wished that his Qibla were towards the Ka'ba (in Mecca)."👍

Abdul G :
Those who claim that the Hadith is necessary to explain the Qur'an should consider two important points. First, if the Hadith were intended by Allah as a complete explanation of the Qur'an, then we would expect it to explain the Qur'an systematically, verse by verse, from beginning to end. It does not. Only a relatively small portion of Qur'anic verses are directly discussed in Hadith literature, leaving the vast majority without such commentary. Second, the Qur'an repeatedly tells us that previous communities corrupted or altered their scriptures. Because of this, Allah declared concerning the Qur'an: "Indeed, it is We who sent down the Reminder, and indeed, We will surely preserve it." (Qur'an 15:9). If Allah guaranteed the preservation of the Qur'an Himself, why would He leave an equally essential source of guidance to depend on generations of human memory, individual narrators, and later compilation, knowing that previous religious traditions had been altered through human intervention?
