Hi so fun fact plantar fasciitis often worsens or first appears during perimenopause due to declining estrogen levels. If you’re in your late 30s and above get your hormones checked, if you haven’t already and if you’re not on it already seriously consider HRT. I wish I had known that back then because it was one of my earliest symptoms. Also get new shoes! That helped. Good luck!

The Straussburg sock was so much better than a splint like that for me. And I can sleep in it! (Shout out to my former high school science lab partner who became head of orthopedics and gave me this tip! It is a lifesaver!)

Get a massage gun, and dig that sucker into your hips, glutes, hammys, your lower back, etc until you find an incredibly tender spot, and then work out that spot over the next few days. Your PF is likely a symptom of a muscle imbalance that is causing incredible tightness in your body.

i did heel dips and raises on curbs. you can put on a backpack with heavy stuff in it if you need more weight but I'm heavy enough lol. it's research based, it works better than every other stretch. it's the only thing that helped and it totally cured my PF. i did do other stretches like lunges and toes up the wall etc. but bc they feel good. and i try to keep my feet in a good position if i have to sit long periods. PF is from short calf muscles which also helped me make decisions about how to move my body. i thought it was a foot issue so i was always trying to stretch my foot. squatting helped too

Sleeping in the boot really helps. It should help you soon. Don’t wear the same shoes everyday. That helps also. Even changing midday. Hope you feel better soon

I tried those. And stretching, physical therapy and the shots. Eventually just got the surgery and have been great for almost two years now. I know it doesn't work for a lot of people though.

That looks awful 🥺 The best things I did were birkenstock sandals, brooks running shoes, and daily magnesium glycinate

Vitamin d, magnesium, red light therapy, oofos shoes, Terry Naturally Traumaplant Comfrey Cream at bedtime, foot exercises with resistance bands (to strengthen the foot muscles) I can finally walk after being bedridden for 5 weeks. I was in so much pain.

No one. Literally no one told me this and I suffered for 6 months, purchased thousands of dollars in sneakers and Birkenstocks…..none worked permanently. Started lifting weights at the gym and completely healed my plantar fasciitis.

Loss of estrogen in peri leads to inflammation everywhere it seems.

Only thing that worked for me was the shot in my foot. And calf stretches and custom made foot inserts kept it away

Hormone replacement therapy was the BEST decision I’ve made in a long time. Every bone in my feet felt bruised. It hurt sooo much to walk.
