Your Taste Bud: Episode 13👅🍸 Mila Modern Greek is a lively Greek restaurant with a menu rooted in Mediterranean flavours. The small plates stood out far more than the mains, which I find is where Greek cuisine truly shines. We were welcomed with a fresh breadbasket served alongside taramosalata. To start, we had the spanakopita, prawn dolmades (not my favourite, though the buttercream tarragon sauce was excellent), and Greek-style meatballs, which were flavourful and surprisingly moist. The mains, lamb souvlaki and beef fillet medallions, were pleasant but ultimately underwhelming, but lacking that wow factor. Cocktails were beautifully presented, but the execution fell short; the spicy margarita, in particular, was overwhelmingly spicy and lacked balance. The restaurant has a strict no-photos policy, allowing only food photography and not of your surroundings. While I respect this, the atmosphere felt tense, with staff closely monitoring guests, which made the dining experience uncomfortable. It’s undeniably a beautiful restaurant, although it’s one you can’t truly capture. Overall, I’d be hesitant to return or recommend it.
